Time for another counseling session. Today is going to be intense. Step 4 is all about taking an honest moral inventory of ourselves, and facing all the ways we have hurt ourselves and others with our addictions. We are getting to the root cause of these compulsive behaviors, identifying the driving instincts that are causing you to fail over and over again. It is important for this step that we do not place any external blame. It can be easy to blame the women in the videos you watch, or just the videos themselves for making you an addict, but your addiction goes much deeper than that. Step 4 can be very hard for those with a pride complex, those with a distorted view of themselves, and it’s essential to be honest so that we can understand where these behaviors and needs are stemming from. You’re committed to the program aren’t you? Make sure you have a pen and paper or something pulled up to type on. Today is when you’re going to start noticing some real differences, but again, don’t be surprised if things get worse before they get better. Today may bring up some intense emotions.
